Child Protection Process

Functions of the Child Protection Committee (CPC)

The teacher and/or CPC member will talk further with the child to reassure them and to clarify and record what has happened.
The CPC member, in consultation with the Principal, will decide whether the matter needs to be referred to a counselor and, where there are concerns about possible abuse, will inform the POCSO wing of the Police department.
If a complaint about possible child abuse is made against a member of staff, the staff member may be removed from duties involving direct contact with pupils and may be suspended from duty as a precautionary measure pending investigations.
It will be explained to the child that it may be necessary to pass information on to the CPC and other agencies and that no promise of confidentiality can be given; detailed records will be kept of all concerns and actions.

A child may suffer or be at risk of suffering from one or more types of abuse, and abuse may take place on a single occasion or repeatedly over time. Certain signs may give rise to concern but are not in themselves proof that abuse has occurred.

Parents and students are encouraged to contact the Principal or any CPC or Grievance Committee member directly in case of concern. All matters will be handled sensitively and with due respect for confidentiality.

Designated Member Role

Role of the Designated CPC Member

The designated CPC member implements and maintains policies and procedures that protect students from abuse, neglect, exploitation and other forms of harm.

They act as a point of contact for students who experience abuse or neglect and work with school authorities to ensure appropriate action is taken.

They also support teachers and staff in identifying and responding to child protection issues and in promoting a safe and nurturing learning environment for all students.

Grievance Cell Goals

Objectives

Uphold the dignity of the school by ensuring a strife‑free atmosphere through cordial student–student and student–teacher relationships.
Encourage students to express grievances or problems freely and frankly, without fear of victimization.
Provide a suggestion/complaint box where students can anonymously submit grievances or suggestions for improving academics and administration.
Advise students to respect the rights and dignity of others and show restraint and patience whenever conflicts arise.
Advise students to refrain from inciting others against fellow students, teachers or school administration.
Advise staff to be affectionate and not behave in a vindictive manner towards any student for any reason.
Prohibit ragging in any form in or outside the institution; any violation is to be urgently reported to the Principal.

Process for Redressal

Mechanism for Redressal of Grievances

The school has a defined mechanism for redressal of student grievances, covering issues such as victimization, attendance, fees, examinations and harassment by peers or teachers.

Procedure for Lodging a Complaint

Students may put up a grievance in writing or in the prescribed format, and drop it in the designated grievance boxes.
The Grievance Cell will act upon cases that have been forwarded along with necessary documents.
The Grievance Cell will ensure that the grievance is properly resolved within a stipulated time limit.

The final responsibility for grievance redressal rests with the Principal. All grievances are expected to be resolved in a time‑bound and result‑oriented manner.
